The rose gold and gold filled wire I use has 14k gold bonded to the base metal (brass). Sorta like gold plated jewelry but this has a layer of gold instead of a microscopic film covering the base metal. There is no nickel added to the metal.

I recommend removing earrings before sleeping. They are easy to clean with a polishing cloth.
